MEETING INFORMATION:

The next meeting of the NYC Tri-State Support Group will be held on Sunday, March 25th from 12:30 to 5 pm.  Please watch this website for future information.

A contribution of $10 per person is suggested to defray the costs of refreshments, mailings, meeting site and possible speaker fees.  Coffee, tea and soda will be available.  We appreciate donations of pretzels, fruit, and other snacks.

If you bring children under twelve years, please bring activities and someone who can supervise them. There are play facilities in the lobby of the hospital but not on the 3rd floor where the conference room is located.

If you are willing to serve as a discussion leader for one of the sub-groups, please phone 631-655-5329.  Long Island Jewish Medical Center has agreed to sponsor us as one of their support groups.  We will plan on having quarterly meetings if enough people are willing to help with planning and other tasks involved in holding meetings.  Also, please let us know if you are able to provide Spanish translation assistance to an attendee who has requested this.

MEETING DIRECTIONS:

• Directions to the Support Group meeting:
  The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center is located in New Hyde Park, about a mile from the Long Island Expressway and 1/4 of a mile from the Northern State Parkway. Park in the hospital visitor parking garage located at the entrance of the Long Island Jewish Medical Center complex off of Lakeville Road.  To access the garage, turn into the LIJ Medical Center complex (from Lakeville Road), stay to the left. At the first stop sign turn left into the parking garage.  Follow the signs to Cohen Children’s Hospital.  Conference Room 303 is on the 3rd floor.  There will be signs in the lobby.  
• You may reach New Hyde Park on the Long Island Railroad.  From Penn Station, take the 11:51 on the Port Jefferson line arriving at New Hyde Park at 12:23.  It is a bit less than 2 miles from the train station to the medical center so take a taxi unless you really like to walk.  There is a 5:35 train from New Hyde Park back to Penn Station.  You could also take a train to Floral Park on the Hempstead Line of the LIRR, but this also requires you to take a taxi or walk over a mile to the hospital.
