SUPPORT GROUP MEETING
MEETING INFORMATION:
The next meeting of the NYC Tri-State Support Group will be
held at the Wang Center at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY,
on Long Island, on Sunday, September 21, 2008, from 9:30 am to 3:30
pm. The meeting is open to families and individuals affected by
Klinefelter Syndrome and its variations, as well as 47,XYY and
47,XXX. To register for this important conference, please follow

INFORMATION:
A
contribution of $20 per person is suggested to pay for the costs of
coffee,
tea, soda, a box lunch, and incidentals, etc.
There
are no facilities for children at the Wang Center,
and it is full of hard granite surfaces as well as pools and
fountains. If you bring children under twelve years,
please bring activities and a person who can supervise them.
The Tri-State
group is large and assistance
will be needed if this group is to continue its meetings. If you
can help with mailings, program planning, registration, or leading
support groups, please contact vcover@optonline.net.
Support group leaders are needed for 1) adult men; 2) parents of
children 11 and younger; 3) parents of adolescents 12 and over; 4)
parents of adults; 5) families of boys with XYY; and 6) families of
girls with XXX. If you are a counseling professional
and willing to lead groups of adolescents, please let me know.

Dr. Lenroot will speak about the neuroimaging and
neurocogitive studies underway at NIMH on individuals with XXY, XXX and
XYY and
variations.

group discussions
to follow lunch. We need volunteer
leaders for groups including parents of young children, parents of
adolescents,
families of XXX girls, families of XYY boys, adult XXY men, etc. Please respond if you are willing to be a
support group leader for the day.
MEETING
DIRECTIONS:
The University
is located in
Suffolk County off Nicolls Road, which is Exit 62 of the Long Island
Expressway, I-495. Take Nicolls
Road north
about 9 miles. The Wang
Center
is just inside the second entrance (Main Entrance) to the University
from Nicolls Road.
Exit to the west campus, and the
large grey
building at the end of the entrance road is the Wang
Center. The
parking structure is located
across the
traffic circle. You can obtain a campus

From Westchester
and Connecticut, take the Throgs Neck Bridge
to the Clearview
Expressway to I-495 East. From Manhattan, take
the
Queens-Midtown Tunnel to I-495. From New
Jersey and Staten Island, take the Verrazano Narrows
Bridge
to the Belt Parkway,
to
the Cross Island Parkway,
to I-495-East.
From Connecticut,
you may also take the
Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry. Turn
right after leaving ferry dock and continue on 25A four miles to Stony
Brook. At Nicolls
Road, turn south, and
take a
right-hand turn into the second entrance to the University for the
Wang Center.)
The Long Island Rail Road stops at the Stony Brook University
campus. There is usually a free bus into campus at the bus stop
on the North side of the tracks, or you can walk the half mile to the
